Final Update - Our son arrived

Final update of the night - at about 7.30 after much pushing and hard work by Lisa the doctor decided the only safe way to progress was a caesarian. This was done with Lisa under local - so we still had the wonderful 'it's a boy / girl' moment.

In the end a lovely boy - 8lbs dead and 21 inches long - very healthy (good set of lungs!!!) called Stanley Charles Maynard.

Mum is great - recovered very quickly (remarkable after 37 hours of 5 minute contractions!!!) now, thankfully, left to sleep.

Update on progress later tomorrow, love to all..............

Stanley at about 3 hours!!

Final Update Before Birth (we hope)...

Hi everyone,

This is Kerry (Lisa's twin sister)

Spencer has just popped home and has given me the lastest.

Well the epidural wasn't working very well so poor Lisa was in a bit of pain but now she has a new epidural and is a bit better but absolutely spaced and exhuasted.

She is fully dilated but they are going to wait 1 hour before telling her to push - then they said it will be 2 hours from then - so we're looking at 19:30 hrs. I'm getting a phone call when the head is showing and I will be dashing over so if I get time, I'll pop another message on the board.

Oh and the baby is strong (apparantly) so its going to be a little boxer. I'm cooking the casserole ready for Lisa's first meal and have lots of goodies ready for her eat fest.

Kerry x

Another Update...........

Now 10.00 in the morning - Lisa had a very rough night with contractions continuing, from 2.00 until 5.00 3 minutes apart and strong with little pain relief. I was tucked up in bed so missed the swearing and cursing - I think the nurses on duty learned a few new words!!

Had a call at 6.00 to go back over to the hospital (the joy of living next door!!) and Lisa had been moved down into the delivery suite. now 'epiduraled' and free from pain. Lisa now comfortable and 5cm dialated (Lee - I know this means very little to you - the 'peppermints and dilutions' are fine).

All being well we should have some news late afternoon / early evening!!

Slow Progress

Not much more happening - Lisa now comfortably drugged and dozy in hospital. Contractions are stronger and longer, but we look to be a long way off any action yet. The best indications are some time tomorrow morning!!!

Off to the hospital now with a pile of pooey celebrity type mags - did you know Brittney has put on 2 stone?????????

It's only just begun...........

Looks like things are underway - I was rudely woken at 6.30 this morning (my lie in day) by Lisa claiming to have a contraction. This thought was confirmed by another 3 happening within the hour. These rapidly increased to every 5-10 minutes and haven't let up yet!!!

We popped into the Hospital for a couple of hours - Lisa was monitored and all is well, looks likely to be some time tomorrow if all goes according to plan. Be the worlds coolest birthday too - 03/04/05!!!!

Updates to follow!!
